- Laundry Room - We have 5 coin operated washers and 5 coin operated dryers as well
as an outdoor clothes line for our tenants use. Tenants are put on a weekly
schedule with free times available on a first come first use basis.
- Exercise Room - Our exercise room is equipped with a treadmill, stationary
bike, rowing machine, and weight machine. This equipment is available for use
anytime on a first come first use basis. We also have a swimming pool which
is available during the summer months and a Jacuzzi that is available by appointment.
- Lounge - Our recreation room is available for company to
come and visit and for special gatherings. We have a small Braille library available,
as well as an Optelec to magnify reading material for those with some
limited vision.
- Dining Room - We have a full service kitchen where we have special meals for Holidays and
other special occasions. We also offer a dinner meal which is served Monday
through Friday. The current cost of the meal is $3.00. A menu is printed and
brailled every month and you can decide what meals you would like to attend.
We do encourage tenants eat at the dining room regularly for the social outlet and to insure
one hot meal a day.
- Office - Our office is open Monday through Friday from 1
pm to 2 pm and from 10:30 am to 12 pm Saturday and 3 pm to 5 pm on Sunday. We
encourage our tenants to use this time to obtain change for the washing machines,
buy stamps, or to ask questions or have special needs met.
- Chapel - We have Sunday School classes every Sunday at 9
am and church services at 10:30 am. Thursday night we meet
in the Recreation room for Bible Study and Prayer Meeting at 6:30 pm. All services
are signed for the deaf and deaf-blind. We invite all tenants to attend these
services but attendance is not required. Grace Bible Church for the Deaf is
an independent Bible church where the Word of God is taught.
- Social Activities: We have our own bus and plan one activity each month. Residents are informed
of different activities as well as other news in our weekly bulletin. Cost of
outings depend on the activities fees and distance traveled. Many of our residents
are also involved at the Braille Institute. A bus from the Institute picks up
here every Friday. These are various craft classes as well as cooking, and braille.
Application must be made to the Braille Institute to register for classes. A recent
verification of blindness from your doctor is one of the requirements.
