Our facility is located in Highland Park, CA.  This is in the north part of Los Angeles near the city of Pasadena.  We are on the corner of Figueroa Street and La Prada.  We have 3 different street addresses, 6819-6817 N. Figueroa and 6079 La Prada, Los Angeles, CA 90042.   Our facility consist of 35 apartment units made up of one and two bedroom units.  Rent is currently around $350.00.  Utilities are not included.
      Each apartment is designed for the safety of the deaf-blind.  We have installed smoke detectors and emergency pull cords to enable the deaf-blind to alert our sighted hearing staff to any problems that need immediate attention.  There are currently 8 full-time staff living on the facility and there is someone available 24 hours a day.  There are rails and chains all around the grounds making walking easy and safe.

      Prior to acceptance to the facility an application must be completed and then approved by the board. It is important that the tenant is able to live as independently as possible. We will give assistance where needed. A recent medical report and doctor’s verification of deafness and blindness must be included. After an applicant is accepted, they are contacted regarding the availability of an apartment. We currently have apartments available, but in the past there was a need to establish a waiting list. If you are put the waiting list you will be notified as soon as an apartment becomes available.
